HERBAL FACE FOOD UPDATED REVIEW + 30% OFF YOUR FIRST ORDER

Just in case you don’t feel like reading this entire post and are here for 30% off click here. Use WholeLovelyLife at check out. You won’t be disappointed by this product I promise!

I started my Herbal Face Food journey back in the fall of 2021. I cannot believe it has been 3 years since I started using these products. Given its been quite a while I thought it was time for an updated review.

The first products I used were The Serum 1 and The Cure X. I used them for about a year and then moved up to The Serum 2 and the The Serum 3 which is what I currently use. In addition I just recently switched from The Cure X to The Cure Extreme XX. It has been a steady climb to the top and I have loved every moment. Waking up each day to skin that is balanced, glowing, and healthy.

In this post I will share my current skincare routine. I will also link to all of my previous, detailed reviews of these products. Taking some time to learn about what sets these products apart is worth your while. There is nothing like Herbal Face Food on the market which is something we hear from a lot of skincare brands but Herbal Face Food has the ingredients, the information, and the performance to back up this claim. It truly stands out.

If you know anything about me you know I love anything and everything skincare. There is always temptation to try something new. Before I started using Herbal Face Food I was constantly trying the next new skincare product with a list of promises. I’m not going to lie. When you love skincare as much as I do the temptation is always there to try something new but what I have found over these last 3 years is nothing compares to Herbal Face Food. Nothing has changed my skin more than these products!

What I noticed in the first few months of using these products and what I have continued to notice is Herbal Face Food gives me consistent good skin days. I no longer struggle with days of dryness, irritation, redness, and occasional breakouts. Overall my skin  looks and feels good every day. And, I feel good because I know I am not putting toxic ingredients on my skin. I am feeding my skin effective ingredients straight from nature.

I am 46 and my skin looks better than it did three years ago! The picture below was taken at the end of the summer. To be fully transparent I have always had pretty good skin but in my later 30’s and early 40’s I definitely started noticing fine lines, redness, enlarged pores and other skin concerns all of which I feel have improved since using these products. I do think a healthy lifestyle plays a massive role in our skins health so the better we eat, sleep, and move the better or skin is going to look. However, these products do more than just mask the skins imperfections. They actually promote skin health.

LOW TOX LIVING IS IMPORTANT TO ME

My Father passed away from Lewy Body Dementia the beginning of this past summer. And since his passing I am more motivated than ever to focus on the things that can really impact my health. Living as low a tox lifestyle as I can is important to me. We cannot avoid everything but there are things we can control and what we put on our bodies is one of them.

Our skin is our largest organ and 67% of what we put on our skin goes directly into our body. In fact, within just 28 min of application chemicals in skincare products can be found in the bloodstream and vital organs. The average woman puts 515 synthetic chemicals on her body every single day which equates to about 5lbs of chemicals absorbed into the body yearly! Pretty crazy when you think about it! But this helps us to understand that the products we use can hinder our healing. You can learn more about how the body absorbs chemicals from the products we use here.

WHAT MAKES HERBAL FACE FOOD DIFFERENT

The Ingredients do! There is no other product like Herbal Face Food on the market. Herbal Face Food products are 100% PLANT (not plant-based). Meaning they contain only plants and nothing else. No synthetic or man-made ingredients and are also safe to eat! I’m not saying to eat it but you could if you wanted to.  Their products go beyond clean and non-toxic skincare. There is nothing like Herbal Face Food on the market. “Plants are the original Scientists. Plants are the ancient Estheticians.” – J. Michael Zenn

  • All ingredients are Organic and or Wild-Harvested
  • 100% Plants (NOT plant-based)50+ Botanicals (more than any other serum on the market)
  • 20 of the most powerful Anti-Aging Botanicals
  • 20 of the Rarest most Expensive Botanicals in the World
  • 10 of the most Anti-Viral Botanicals
  • Edible (you can eat it, but I don’t encourage it)
  • Vegan, Sustainably and Ethically Sourced
  • No Fillers, Chemicals, or Preservatives
OXYGEN RADICAL ABSORBANCE CAPACITY (ORAC) RATING

Antioxidants are important but all are not created equally. Did you know there is a scientific method for measuring the antioxidant/anti-aging power of a given ingredient or plant-chemical combination. Its called the ORAC rating. I was blown away when I learned about this. You can find some of the most well known and expensive skincare products and their ORAC rating here. Want to hear a fact that will blow your mind? At least it did mine. Vitamin C rates less than 100,000 on the ORAC scale. Herbal Face Food serum registers at over 30 million on the ORAC scale. That is 100,000x the anti-aging power of Vitamin C. Absolutely crazy right? How great to have one main go to product that is delivering unmatched anti-aging power.

IT’S IN THE RESEARCH
Herbal Face Food serums have been proven to reverse the 10 most visible signs of aging: wrinkles, large pores, dryness, redness, discoloration, loss of skin tone, firmness, smoothness, radiance, brightness as well as addressing chronic skin issues such as acne, eczema, rosacea, and psoriasis. The plants in Herbal Face Food are backed with a lot of research which you can learn more about here.
UPDATED ROUTINE

As I shared above my journey with Herbal Face Food started with Serum 1 and The Cure X. Herbal Face Food has 5 different serums. Serum 1, Serum 2, Serum 3, The Cure X, and The Cure Extreme XX. Each serum contains the same ingredients just in different concentrations. Herbal Face Food suggests starting with Serum 1 and The Cure X and then working your way up. There is no harm to starting with a higher serum but Herbal Face Food is very different than any other product out there in that it creates a warming, tingling, almost burning sensation on the skin. This is the plant actives going to work and is one of things that makes Herbal Face Food standout. But, for some new users it may feel too intense to start at a higher number. The higher the number the greater the sensation. I personally started with Serum 1 and worked my way up to Serum 3.

Here are the products I currently use and how I use them.

EVENING ROUTINE
  1. I start with an oil to remove eye make up and face make up. This is almost always avocado oil from my kitchen cabinet. I keep it in a pump bottle and use about three pumps to cleanse my dry face. I tissue it off and move on to step 2.
  2. I cleanse my skin with The Cure X Soap which I have grown to love! It was not a product I was consistent with initially but as soon as I started using it daily I was blown away. Mostly seeing the larger pores on the sides of my nose get smaller and smaller. Now it is one of the products I feel is hard to live without. It may seem excessive but I like to double cleanse my skin. After rinsing I fully cleanse my face again. I recently learned that you can let the soap sit on your face and dry down before rinsing. Basically use it as a mask. This is something I do a few times a week and I love it! Once my face is fully clean I move on to step 3.
  3. I pat my face dry and then I use a gentle dry face brush to exfoliate. Herbal Face Food suggests ensuring your face is exfoliated a few times a week as it will help with the absorption of the products on a deeper level. I love my little face dry brush and have found it to be a great alternative to more aggressive exfoliants. You can find them online.
  4. I then use The Eye Cream on both my lower eye area and my eye lids. You don’t need much. Just a little. I played around with using The Eye Cream before or after The Serum and I prefer using it first. I find it absorbs a bit better. I still use the serum around my eyes as well but do so after I use The Eye Cream.
  5. Next I use The Serum 3 and The Cure Extreme XX. The Cure X and The Cure Extreme XX are very concentrated and intended to be used as a spot treatment. However, you can use however you like. If I feel I need a little extra boost I may mix in a drop or two of The Cure Extreme XX into The Serum 3 and use all over my face. I did this when I used The Serum 1 and The Serum 2 as well with The Cure X. If you use both separately then you can either use The Cure first on areas that need most attention and then one of the Serums all over.
  6. I then finish with The Cream. Again a little goes a long way. If I have time I may do a little gua sha or face massage.
MORINING ROUTINE
  1. There are mixed thoughts on whether we really need to wash our face in the morning. Personally I always do! I love the feeling of a fresh clean skin in the morning.
  2. After cleansing I use The Serum 3 all over my face and a very small amount of The Eye Cream and The Cream.
  3. I follow with a little gua sha or face massage if I have time and then apply my makeup.

One of the things I love most about Herbal Face Food is they don’t have a million products in their line. They stand behind a small assortment of products that perform. I absolutely love this and the ease of not having a 10 step skincare routine. Just a simple routine that works!

WOW ITS A BIT SPENDY

Yes it is. There is no denying that Herbal Face Food is a higher priced brand. To be honest the cost shocked me at first. But then I went and looked in my drawers and added up all of the money I have spent on skincare products that never really lived up to their claims and they were definitely not as clean as Herbal Face Food. When I did that exercise I realized that quality over quantity matters and these products last a long time which I personally think makes them not as expensive as you might think. Below are the number of days each product typically lasts.

50ml Serums (40-50 days)

50ml The Cure X (60-80 days)

50ml The Extreme Cure XX (60-80 days)

50ml The Cream (3-6 months)

30ml The Eye Cream (3-6 months)

The Cure X Soap (They don’t give a specific time but I have found a bar can last up to 6 months. A little goes a long way)

It's been a while. I hope summer was amazing for a It's been a while. I hope summer was amazing for all of you. We had a very busy but good summer.

Sadly, in July, we had to say goodbye to our sweet Luna. It was one of the hardest things I have ever done. Not doing what was right for her, but just getting to that moment. I kept wondering how I was going to get through it? What would it be like? I did not want her to suffer, and I had no idea how I would know when it was time. But I did. Getting to that point was awful. But being by her side when it was time to say goodbye was oddly easy. It was a relief. Luna was my first pet (besides two hamsters after college 😂) and she was so special. She will always be special. Pets are such a blessing in our lives. I definitely feel blessed we had Luna as long as I did. She was almost 14!

Seeing H go through losing Luna was hard. He loved her, but at the same time, only really knew her as an older dog. We had talked a bit before Luna passed away about whether or not we would get another dog. He really wanted one, and I did too. I thought I would not be ready for a while. We originally thought next spring, but the house felt so empty after Luna was gone. So guess what?

We welcomed a new corgi puppy home a week ago. It's crazy how we found her, and it happened really fast, but she is perfect for our family, and H is having so much fun with her. And she is a red headed tri-color just like Luna! We found her in South Dakota, so H and I took a little road trip to pick her up. She was born as a single puppy with no littermates. H thought that was super cool when we found out and said, "My new dog is an only child too." Anyway, life just got a little crazier but in a good way! This is one of my last pictures of the three of us and I just love it. She had a good day lounging in the sunshine and so did we.🤍
When DrNatura reached out to see if I wanted to tr When DrNatura reached out to see if I wanted to try their 30 Day Colonix Cleanse it looked oddly familiar. After taking a look closer I realized I did this exact cleanse in 1999. A friend at the time told me about it and I was just starting to get into "health" stuff. At the time I had horrible stomach problems as did my friend and since she loved it I thought I would give it a try. From what I can recall I had a great experience so I decided to try it again. This time going into it in a good state of health but still finding it beneficial.

I know there are mixed thoughts on cleanses like these so when I consider any product I do a lot of research. Given this product has been on the market for a very long time it is easy to find countless reviews. My recommendation is to always do your own research and work with a healthcare profession. This will enable you to determine what products are the right fit for you based on your current health state and health goals. Don’t just take my word for it. Do your own research.

#maralabspartner Throughout my adult life, I have #maralabspartner Throughout my adult life, I have had a love-hate relationship with supplements. I have been through periods where I take them consistently and periods where I don’t use them at all. I think my biggest issue is finding a supplement company I can truly trust and not over complicating things by taking more supplements than I need.

I recently promised myself that I would not buy any more supplements until I used up everything I currently have. While I finished using what I had I re-evaluated what I really needed and then researched like crazy to find a company I trusted. I will be sharing my new supplement line up over the next few months along with why I am taking what I am taking.

To start I have added a number of supplements from Mara Labs. Some have replaced ones I was already taking but the Mara Lab version is much higher quality. Their supplements are backed by evidence-based research and provide cellular benefit due to proven bioavailability and bioactivity. This means that when you take one of their supplements, it is not only making it into your bloodstream, but it is entering your cells.

They have a number of amazing supplements but the one they are most known for is BrocElite. It is the only broccoli supplement on the market offering naturally derived stabilized sulforaphane in a capsule (as opposed to the precursor, glucoraphanin). I am overjoyed to have found a supplement that can help me easily consume this amazing ingredient!

Sulforaphane or SFN for short was discovered in 1992 by researchers at Johns Hopkins University. It is considered one of the most powerful antioxidants on earth. It has been shown to reduce free radical damage and inflammation at the source. In just 2 capsules you get the equivalent of approximately 3oz of broccoli sprouts!

In my stories I am sharing more of the amazing benefits of Sulforaphane and in my bio I have linked a blog post and detailed review of all of Mara Labs amazing supplements

If after doing your own research you are interested in trying BrocElite or one of their other supplements you can save 10% with CODE: WholeLovelyLife which NEVER EXPIRES and can be used every time you purchase!
